User Management

Create an account

1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
2. Click on Sign up now.
3. Enter your Email Address and then Click on Send code .
4. Enter the verification code received on your e-mail and then click on Verify code.
5. Then, enter your desired password in the fields Password and Confirm Password.
6. Click on Create account.
7. Multi-factor authentication: You would then have to choose your preferred multi-factor Authentication method among the following: Aunthenticator App (of your choice), Text Message (SMS)/Phone call or E-mail.
8. If you choose the Authenticator App, you would have to verify your e-mail adrress one more time for the initial App set-up. After initialisation, you can use the App to scan the QR code presented on the screen and obtain the Code. If you choose a method among the latter two, you would receive your code on your phone or e-mail address.
9. Enter the code and click on Verify.

Edit your profile

1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
2. In the top right corner, click on 🙍.
3. You can edit your Username, Timezone and Security details.

Invite a user

Astrocast Portal enhances collaboration by allowing multiple members of your team to have access to your customer account on the Portal. You can invite a new user and assign permissions as follows:

1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
2. In the bottom left corner, click on ⚙️ Settings.
3. Click on 🔑 Permissions.
4. Click on ➕ Grant permission.
5. Enter the email address of the new user.
6. Select a Role.
7. Click on Create.

If a user is not yet registered with Astrocast, he/she will receive an invitation by email to register.

Edit a permission

Only users with the role Owner can edit permissions.

1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
2. In the bottom left corner, click on ⚙️ Settings.
3. Click on 🔑 Permissions.
4. Click on 🖊️ next to the User whose permission you want to edit.
5. Change the Role type.
6. Click on Update.

Revoke a permission

1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
2. In the bottom left corner, click on ⚙️ Settings.
3. Click on 🔑 Permissions.
4. Click on 🗑️ to revoke a permission.
5. Confirm.

Role description

Role Name	Description
Owner	Full access to manage all resources, including the ability to assign roles.
Contributor	Full access to manage all resources, but not allowrd to assign roles.
Reader	View all resources, but not allowed to make any changes.
Wi-Fi DevKit	Allows to send messages and retrieve unicast commands.
Device Engineer	Full access to devices including control commands.
