Device Management

View your devices

You can view the list of devices assigned to your customer account from your Astrocast Dashboard.

  1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
  2. Click on Devices in the sidebar.

By default, you will only see Active devices.

Edit a device

  1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
  2. Click on Devices in the sidebar.
  3. Click on 🖊︝ to edit properties of a device.
  4. You can change the following properties: Name, Description, Device group and Location (if the device is fixed or stationary).
  5. Click on Update.

Device location

There are 2 scenarios for a device location:

  1. If the device is stationary, you can mark it as having a fixed location in the Astrocast Portal.
  2. If the device is moving and it has a GNSS, you can mark it as having a non-fixed location in the Astrocast Portal and include its GPS coordinates as geolocation data when sending uplink messages.

Device States

StateDescription
RegisteredThe device is registered on our platform and ready to be used. When the device sends its first message, it will automatically be activated.
ActiveThe device is active. A monthly subscription fee applies.
SuspendedThe device is suspended. A monthly maintenance fee applies. If the device sends a message, it will automatically be re-activated.
TerminatedThe device is retired and no longer used. No monthly fee applies.

Export to CSV

  1. Go to the Astrocast Portal.
  2. Click on Devices in the sidebar.
  3. Use the filters to refine the list of devices.
  4. Click on 📋 to export the list of devices to a CSV file.
  5. Save the file 💾.
